Words from the Manager

Following the appointment of Cliff Akurang as First Team Manager, Cliff would like to give our promising youth players more of a chance, relying more on our home-grown teams, and hopes that fans will support the new players and continue to cheer on the SeedGrowers as we enter into a new season.

Read on to hear Cliff’s thoughts and plans for the upcoming campaign:

It has always been my ambition to work with Coggeshall Town.
When given the opportunity to manage the team, I couldn’t say no.

“I am excited for the challenge ahead.
I will try to create a new culture and a winning mentality at our football club
Not by spending the most money but by uniting the community and becoming a team on and off the field.

Key to our success is the fans, not just for the club but for the whole community. I’d loved to see as many of you through the gates as possible supporting both our team and our town, bringing our community together.

It’s always been my aim to push new and exciting players from youth teams from the surrounding areas into mens football. I hope to continue to achieve this at Coggeshall Town.

It is going to take a lot of work but my team are prepared to do everything that we can to bring success back to the club.

Backroom team

Brian Saywer will come in as my No. Two he has been with me from the start and his experience is invaluable. He has coached the under eighteens at Coggeshall town to Coggeshall Utd and now with Coggeshall Town firsts.

We will be joined by my trusty, experience and hungry coaches.

Graham Hirst will be using his wealth of experience stepping up as goalkeeper coach this season
L’HEUREUX Menga and Jemel Fox will come in as first team player coaches, players who have played at a good level and made names for themselves over the years, they will also assist in recruiting players for the club.

Marcus Tracey locals will know well, he will be stepping up from his role as head of youth to technical director and ensure the development and pathways of our top young players he will give them the confidence they need to be among senior players.

I look forward to seeing you all throughout the season.

Come on you Seedgrowers
