Result, Basildon United 2 Coggeshall Town 1.

The gulf in class in the first half was so great that you could only see the Town progressing into the next round at half-time. Basildon had other ideas and put in a spirited performance in the second half to earn an away draw at Billericay Town in the next round. This defeat would have a serious impact on the clubs budget later in the season.
