Match Report

A draw on Saturday saw Coggeshall travel to Barking on Tuesday night for an FA Cup replay. Early attempts from both King and Follea were blocked, with Barking threatening the other end, with the chance coming to the same fate. Barking’s Charlie Cole found the back of the net early on as his headed effort trumped the red’s defence. George Okoye doubled the home side’s advantage not long after as he too headed home.

A flurry of bookings then followed in the final five minutes of the first half, with Folan seeing yellow for the blues, and Ahern and Bennett receiving cautions for their challenges. Josh Hughes was sent off for a rash challenge not long before the break.

Half time: Barking 2 – 0 Coggeshall Town

Half time substitutions for the reds saw Nial and Barlow make way for Oti and Toualeu. It didn’t take long for the SeedGrowers to change their tune as Oyenuga hit home from range to make it two-one. Barking’s Alfie Leach was booked after he made yet another dangerous challenge. Louis Dillon was booked for the home side after a blatant handball outside the box. Pedulu came on for Bulauka as the game continued, supplying Oyenuga a number of times, who struck the post in his closest effort. Freddie King also troubled Whymark in goal, who must’ve frightened the home side’s defence and shotstopper with some seriously close attempts, before the referee blew the final whistle.
