Good Luck Joseph Zerafa

Everyone at Coggeshall Town wishes to say good luck to Joseph Zerafa who is a former player who is now currently playing back in his home country Malta for Birkikara FC.  His current club have managed to get through to the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League where they have drawn West Ham United.

The 1st leg of the tie was last week at the Boleyn Ground in front of a packed crowd of 35,000 which West Ham narrowly won 1-0 with a 96th min winner!! So now Birkikara take the Hammers back to the national stadium in Malta to see if they can overturn the 1st leg result.  Joseph came to the club via our Academy Manager Alfed Saliba to try his luck in England, he came looking for a football league club and after his brief stay in the country he managed to work his way up to Conference level with Welling United.  He played a couple of games for us at Coggeshall Town to maintain fitness while he was organising trial games etc at other clubs. Joe is a real class act and may be back in England again this season if he can put in some good displays in the upcoming Europa League games which is giving him great exposure to watching Football League Clubs.

I know everyone involved in the club will be wishing Joe all the best Thursday night and keeping there fingers crossed that his team can get a result to keep there dream alive of reaching the Europa League group stages.

Good Luck Joe
