A message from the Manager

A message from the Manager:- I would like to welcome our guests Ipswich Town FC to West Street stadium, we hope you have a pleasant visit and wish Kieran McKenna and the boys the best of luck for the new season.
Special thanks to John McGreal for arranging this evenings friendly.

A big thank you to White Notley FC, for stepping in at the last minute on Saturday to provide us with a game to help with our preparations, their hospitality was excellent.  We look forward to our other pre-season friendlies when we visit Brantham FC, Wingate & Finchley FC, Romford FC, FC Clacton, Harwich & Parkeston and also possibly hosting Brightlingsea Regent.

I would like to send our sincere thanks to all our departing players and wish them all the best moving forward both on and off the pitch. We are a club that must be prudent and sustainable in its financial approach, as this town has already felt the pinch of a club, which overstretches itself financially.

Letting players go is never easy, but it is a necessary part of our industry and necessary to rebalance our squad as we build towards a brighter future and our plans to rejuvenate the squad are progressing well.

There has been a lot of work done behind the scenes to help me improve our environment, these changes are not always visible to the fans but are vitally important to our future success, allowing for more even investment across a balanced squad, which can compete in all phases of the game across a difficult Isthmian League North campaign. I want to bring significant changes to the squad; my decisions have been geared towards rejuvenating the team and bringing a fresh mentality to the club. Sometimes players need new challenges and clubs need a spark of new life that is certainly true for us and has already assisted us in attracting new players.

We must have an identity, one that will unite us all, one that will provide us the highs, but also guide us through the more challenging times. We want to give you a team that you can connect with and can be proud of and we must perform better at home.

As we announce our new arrivals nearer the new season, I will share these plans in greater detail and outline some of our plans to grow the connection between our new team and you amazing fans. In the meantime thank you for your continued support. Cliff
